Bavarian Weissbier

September 7, 2012 by Simon Narracott Leave a Comment

Bavarian Weissbier Description: This beer is cloudy as you would expect with a strong wheat aroma. Not too frothy, it has a consistent and simple wheat and hops taste with only a slight lingering of hops at the finish. Compared to most wheat beers, this is very bland and it really has no high taste points in the drinking experience.

The cloudiness of the beer is natural and comes from the addition on yeast to generate a secondary fermentation in the bottle. The beer should be poured into the glass by turning the bottle as you pour to mix up all the contents.

Brewed in strict accordance with the Bavarian Purity Law, this Bavarian Weissbier has been brewed and bottled especially for Waitrose UK, which may explain its attempt to appeal to a wider audience and hence its softer all-round taste.
