Birbet Brachetto Negro, 2011

Region: Italy, Piedmont
Grapes: Brachetto
Description: This is a complete surprise and a pleasant one at that. A 5% alcohol wine that is sparkling and light, delicate but confident on the nose, it is smooth in the mouth, revealing soft red berries with no lingering aftertaste at all. With a smooth and persistent foam, consider this more as a tease than a full wine. It is ideal as a palette cleanser between courses or a light refresher at the end of a meal, this is one that will not disappoint. Best served cold but not over chilled, so leave it in the fridge for an hour but no longer.
Price: £11.95
Source: Great Western Wine
Occasion: Ice Cream, Cheesecake
