Description: |
This Duchy Originals Old Ruby ale pours a deep mahogany colour with only the lightest of soft hop aroma. A slight fine head forms, but doesn’t last, the fizz remaining in the drink and releasing slowly in the mouth. To the taste, it is smooth, without any immediately defined flavours. More a fine pate of hops and barley than any individual taste, it maintains the barley flavour through to the swallow. Slight lingering of soft hops and a hint of dark chocolate and coffee. Really easy to drink, and goes well with a good homemade ploughmans.
The 1905 label refers to the first time the Plumage Archer Barley was used in beer. Serve at just below room temperature. |
