Description: |
Marston’s Old Empire India Pale Ale pours a light golden straw colour with a good head of fine foam that lasts. It has a delicate aroma of hops with a hint of barley. In the mouth the foam expands to add a creamy smoothness that then lasts throughout the drink. It has a delicate malty brightness that is refreshing, again lasting throughout the drink, the slight bitterness adding to the bright, tangy, refreshing experience. The finish is mild an light, a long lingering floral hops flavour remaining.
This is probably one of the best India Pale Ales you will ever try. Long, smooth and consistent, leaving a lasting hop flavour separates this from some of the lesser pale ales that are more like a roller-coaster in terms of flavour and delivery. Marston’s Old Empire India Pale Ale is brewed in Burton Upon Trent, which has a history of brewing pale ales since the 19th century. These pale ales were made from the finest ingredients and matured in oak casks so that they would survive the 3 month journey from England to India. |
