Description: |
Dry, though cloying, there are cocoa and dark chocolate flavours, black treacle, and dark malt leading into a bitter coffee and chocolate finish. The high 5.8% abv maintains the warmth and weight of the body. This is not a cheap chocolate beer, but much more of a dark molasses and raw cocoa chocolate taste that is both satisfying and lingering. Still quite heavy at the finish, this is a speciality beer to be enjoyed on occasions, rather than a regular drinking beer, which the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale is for.
As I walked home from the bar, the taste of chocolate and coffee lingered in my mouth for ages, as if sucking on a long lasting sweet. Perfect. |
