Tesco Cava Demi-Sec

July 19, 2012 by Simon Narracott Leave a Comment

Tescos Cava Demi Sec Description: This Tesco Cava Demi-Sec is a sparkling wine made by the traditional method to produce a medium dry style. Has the aroma of peach and elegant flowers. It is bubbly and explodes on the mouth with a warm volume revealing some body and construction. There is a lingering sweet aftertaste as you may expect from a demi-sec.
It is recommended to be served chilled, and this firms up the edges of the taste and sharpens the bubbles, almost to the point of annoyance. Slightly less than room temperature will let this wine expose its full flavour and bubbles without having any cold edge to it.
Region: Spain
Grapes: 33% macabeo, 33% xarello, 33% parellada
Price: £5.95
ABV: 12.5%
Closure: Real Cork
Source: Tesco
Occasion: White Meat, Soup, Salads
Comments: Cava is very underated as it is so often compared to Champagne. Stop doing that, its pointless. This Cava, at the £5.95 price gives a lot of sparkle for your pound and will not fail to impress. To get the best do not over chill as this freezes in the rich aromas and taste.
