This Viru Premium Estonian Beer pours a light lemon yellow, with a good fine foam head that lasts. A slight mix of wheat, straw and citrus on the nose, it has the initial taste and body of a light Chardonnay. The taste of wheat and malt stay throughout the drink, but are very delicate, throwing up hints of hay, butter and flint. It is all very good, and by the time you have started to identify the flavours the bottle is empty.
Although this beer comes in a small 300ml bottle, it is definitely a sip and enjoy beer rather than a grab and run. From experience, it is great with a good Cheddar and crackers.
If you want something lighter than a white wine to go with food, then this Viru Premium Estonian Beer will suit you perfectly.
