This beer is dark golden in colour giving a large fine foam head even at the slowest pour. It is slightly hop scented, with subtle pure barley hints. The taste is smooth, with a clearly define malt taste and a nice consistency of body. It goes down smoothly without any lingering of hop taste.
It is brewed and bottled in Namibia, and has been produced since 1920, although the label also mentions that it is brewed to the pure beer Reinheitsgebot standards set in 1516. It has been a regular winner of the DLG Gold medal, but until now has been almost unheard of outside of Southern Africa.
