Marques De Carano Reserva 2007

Marques De Carano Reserva 2007 - Back
Description: Pouring a deep ruby red, this wine has the soft aroma of black cherry and blackcurrent. As a mix of Tempranillo and Garnacha grapes, you get the smoothness of the Tempranillo combined with the rich flavours of cherry and blackcurrant fruits from the Garnacha. Even at only 12.5%abv this Marqués De Caranó Reserva 2007 punches above its weight in full bodied flavour and complexity. The fruit flavours are further supported by the wood and vanilla hints gained from the maturing in the American oak casks before bottling.

The Cariñena region of Spain has historically had low rainfall and long hot summers, allowing the grapes to ripen before being hand harvested mid September.

The wine is smooth enough to drink on its own, but would be more for an evening as it is not light like a lunchtime Rioja.
