Cantine Maschio Prosecco Treviso Brut

Region: Italy, Prosecco
Grapes: Fiano
Description: This is a typical example of the classic Italian Prosecco. It is a wine full of the bright candied fruit flavours so typical of the region, with back floral notes. Don’t be surprised as the flavours reach out to you in the mouth; if served chilled (as it should be) the real flavour only reveals itself when slowly tasted in the mouth.
This wine has a superbly fine foam that just lasts and lasts. Best served chilled and kept chilled in an ice bucket.
Price: £9.99
ABV: 11.0%
Closure: Cork
Source: Tesco
Occasion: As an Aperitif, Fish, Shellfish
Comments: Prosecco is the Italian equivalent of the Spanish Cava, which is the French equivalent of Champagne. Highly undervalued because it doesn’t have the ‘Champagne’ tag, it is excellent value giving the same bubbles as wines 5 times its price. It lacks enough body to really be drunk on its own, but the volume amplifies when drunk alongside a fish dish.
