Amarone della Valpolicella 2008

Amarone della Valpolicella 2008 Back
Description: A nice Christmas ruby red colour, with initially only the faintest of black cherry aromas. The taste is rich and smooth, full of dark cherry and plum flavours, intertwined with oak and earth, and with a long pleasing finish. An interesting wine, more full of cherry than grape to the taste. Allowing the wine to breathe, even for 10 minutes removes some of the lively freshness and lets it settle down to become a lovely smooth and consistent drink. This is a 14.5 abv wine, and the flavour lives up to the expectations from the higher level of alcohol, but only if allowed to breathe a bit.

The bottle looks good and is sure to appeal to Christmas buyers at a price that matches its taste.

The label states ‘Antica Vigna’ indicating that all the grapes used to produce this wine have come from aged vines.

This Amarone is part of the Aldi Premium Christmas range Collection so should be available in limited quantities. Worth buying to impress your friends this Christmas.
