Dragon Stout

Dragon Stout - Back
Description: This Dragon Stout pours a dark black in colour with a dark light foam. Very smooth to the taste it is full of vanilla pods, liquorice and dark tastes. Consider it a stronger, darker Guinness flavour initially, but the flavour lingers and is with a refreshing rise at the swallow of deep black plum and tobacco.

Stout in Jamaica is definitely thought of as a male beverage because of its bitter aftertaste. Jamaican stout is defined by the Dragon brand, which was established in 1920, and was created by Red Stripe. It is now internationally known as a premium stout from the tropics.

Dragon Stout is full-bodied, slightly sweeter and smoother than you may expect, with less carbonization, therefore a finer head of froth appears in the glass when poured. This is a stout which non-stout drinkers will appreciate as it has a pleasing nose and is not harsh on the palate. Also, as a speciality Jamaican Stout, it is more likely to be tried as a one-off initially.

In Jamaica, Dragon Stout is also often used in food, notably bread.

Although Stout loves to be mixed with cream and chocolate, these beers are also great for meat dishes and cheeses. Spicy foods are also teamed well with this Dragon Stout.
