Description: |
This is a dark bodied beer, with the slight aroma of malt and hops but nothing to give away its intense flavour. The first sip tells you you have something special. It is full of spice and hops, with dark treacle, molasses, dark fruits, prunes and yet some lighter floral notes to fill any gaps. The high 10.5% abv doesn’t detract from the flavour, nor does it make up for any lacking elsewhere in the beer. This beer is simply amazing.
The bottle is a plastic wrapped glass bottle, looking more like a milkshake than a beer. Maybe to make it look un-appealing and to keep this to an exclusive group. One description of this beer was “one to drink sitting down”. having tasted it, and so enjoyed its taste and weight I can see what they meant. In a room of mice, this is the Elephant. This beer is probably one of the best I have drunk this year. It is not to be rushed, can be enjoyed in silence on its own, or with decent company. |
