Isle Creta Kotsifali Mandilaria 2008

Isle Creta Kotsifali Mandilaria 2008 - Back
Description: When this wine was opened and poured its lovely purple red into the glass, the guests at the table next to me turned around to see what was giving of such a full and fruity aroma. Made from the local grape varieties of Kotsifali and Mandilaria, this Isle Creta has a unique structure, full of red flavours, flowers and rich spices. Slightly lighter than most wines at 12.5% abv, this only helps the flavours dominate, and places this wine clearly in the easy drinking category.

Don’t expect a French smooth bodied red wine here. This is Crete equivalent Vin de Pays, and has a much coarser and fruitier taste than the European wines, but is perfectly suited to the regional Crete environment. If you have ever been to Crete or Greece, this wine will bring memories of open tavernas and hot nights rushing back.
