Description: |
This KWV Classic Collection Pinotage 2010 pours a light red colour, initially looking weak, but has the full aroma of raspberry and plum. On the palate it has an initial sharpness, which slowly fades to give deep fruit flavours of raspberry, redcurrant and a hint of gooseberry. Although the grape is Pinotage, the variety is clearly fresh and lively, the flavours always tingling in the mouth through to the finish. Sadly the finish is short, leaving just a slight redcurrant and slight spice flavour.
Each bottle is numbered with an ‘integrity and sustainability’ label that makes the wine look a little more expensive than it is. The label clearly states that the Pinotage is part the collection of KWV wines, which does help to build the KWV brand. This wine is clearly a budget wine, but it is not disappointing, punching higher than its price, so I may look at reviewing the rest of the wines. |
