The very light colour and scent of melon leads on to a light taste, only kept crisp by chilling. It is more an occasional wine with nibbles than something to be drunk leasurely with friends. If you serve it at room temperature then it becomes much more like a traditional chardonnay and gives a much bigger flavour than its appearence would suggest. I personally prefer it just a few degress off room temp. The edges are rounder and the finish much more lingering. However, it is cheaper than a pint of beer so offers good value for money and lets you exepriment. |
