Taurus Dry Cider

December 9, 2012 by Simon Narracott 1 Comment

Taurus Dry Cider Description: Pours a very light golden colour with a weak aroma of apples. There is a full foam head that lasts, and maintains its sparkling within the glass. Initial tasting of light summer apples followed quickly by sweetness and bubbles. No lingering taste at the finish, which leads to the sensation of dryness which is hidden by the initial sweetness.

This cider is made exclusively for Aldi, and their brief may have been to make a more lighter and processed cider than others. It has a high abv of 5.5% yet lacks the colour and full taste that Strangbow has. I say this for comparison, not criticism.

Overall this is a perfectly acceptable drinking cider. With the 2 litre bottle you get roughly 3.5 pints, at about 52 pence a pint. This is ideal for home drinking. Its certainly not a premium cider, or one to take to a party, but to drink at home alongside regular food it is amazing value.

I’ve been drinking taurus cider for some time and it’s one of the best ciders on the market.

Better than most of the others on the market
