Tora Loco Rose Utiel Requeña 2011

September 24, 2012 by Simon Narracott Leave a Comment

Tora Loco Rose Utiel Requeña 2011 Description: Called a rose, this wine pours more pink than rose. A strong aroma of blackcurrant and red berry is noticeable, slightly sharp with a citrus bite, which is a bit off-putting, or surprising, at the first taste. A full taste of dark berries can be found, but mixed smoothly without any hidden complexity, which gives a consistent and repeatable experience. Nicely warming at the finish without the plastic taste you often get from others in this price range.

The Bobal is a typical grape of the Utiel Requeña region, which gives the basis for this refreshingly lively wine.

Toro Loco means ‘crazy bull’ in Spanish and is the label used to reflect the passion and essence of the region.

Not to everyone’s taste, this is a bit of a hidden gem for the price. Serve Chilled.
