This red 2010 Triade wine is made from a blend of Primitivo, Negroamaro and Nero di Troia grapes, all grown locally in Puglia, Southern Italy. It pours a deep red in colour, with the aroma of dark cherries, cinnamon and black pepper. To the taste, it is full of body and spicy notes, dark plum and a woody oak. Slightly grating at the finish with high tannins and spices, but this softens to a lingering fruitiness.
Each bottle is uniquely numbered which shows care in the production and distribution. This 2010 wine won a gold award at the International Wine challenge 2012, and each bottle now has a separate label stuck onto it to show this. Wines at this price are difficult to really tell apart, but this one has all the best attributes you could want, so it is worthy of the award. |
