Two Rivers Brewery Denver Diamond Real Ale pours a lovely teak brown, with a very full head of coarse foam that lasts and lasts. It has a lovely hops aroma with a soft backing malt mixed in.
In the mouth it is bright and uplifting, slightly bitter on the tongue from the fragrant English hops, it has a smooth support of malt and burnt molasses from the blend of English Maris Otter Malt and German malt. Very smooth finish with a slight zing remaining, along with a coarse foam head, that lingers to leave a fragrant hop fade.
Overall this Two Rivers Brewery Denver Diamond Real Ale is a really good, very refreshing, yet with a volume of flavour that really does need to be enjoyed alongside a cook steak sandwich or hot casserole. Best served at around 12c, this beer has a slight sediment as it is fermented in traditional barrels but then conditioned in the bottle, so care needs to be taken when preparing and pouring. But that care is worth it.
I would have given it a 5 out of 5 but the foam head is just a bit too wild and fresh, almost getting in the way of the drink.
